NV-BM and MTS-SAS Change Notice
Dear Valued Customer:
The purpose of this letter is to serve as written notice of U-Reach Data Solutions, Inc to provide notification of a change to our NV-BM M.2 sockets, model #TB1587-V2. Due to the pandemic-induced chip shortage, some parts have been difficult to acquire, forcing us to engineer new solutions while still retaining the performance and efficiency on which our customers rely.
The socket connection piece on model TB1587-V2 has reached EOL and has been replaced with TB1587-V3. The only notable difference in the replacement part is that it uses a black PCBA instead of a blue one; there is no difference in performance. Devices that utilize TB1587-V2 can also use TB1587-V3; the TB1587-V3 socket is backwards compatible.
The second change affects our NV-BM series controller. Due to the pandemic-induced chip shortage, some parts have been difficult to acquire, forcing us to engineer new solutions while still retaining the performance and efficiency on which our customers rely.
Some components utilized in the NV-BM series version 3 controller have reached EOL. Resultingly, we redesigned our controller and firmware. New NV-BM machines are now considered version 4. Older firmware versions are not backwards compatible, and the lowest firmware they can support is version 2.49.0.
The third and final change affects our larger MTS-SAS machines, namely the MTS-800SAS and MTS-1600SAS. Like the NV-BM series, these controllers endured some chip shortages and have been upgraded to version 2. The lowest supported firmware for these machines is 2.45.9.
None of these changes have any impact on functionality or performance. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. As always, we appreciate your continued support!
Sincerely,
U-Reach Data Solutions, Inc Management Team
